The Big Bruiser by Elektrolumens, Who has it ?

Thank you for your comments on Big Bruiser. I originally designed Big Bruiser with the SST90 LED, but so many expressed a preference for the 3xml version I dropped the SST90 version. But the IRIS optics specs say 8.5 degrees beam, which is a lot narrower than the 19 degrees of the Ledil triple...

26650 Batteries for the Big Bruiser?

To answer your question (hope it's okay to do so, as this question is directed at 'anyone'), Elektro Lumens will have 26700A Moli LiMn02 2900mAh, 13C 40A discharge rated batteries available to be purchased in about 1 week or so. These batteries measure 26.4mm x 70.00mm, will fit perfectly in Big...

[UPDATED: SSC P7 Aspherical on DHS Heatsink]KD's Aspherical Lens and Dropin

I'm wondering ? 1) For the P7 LED, if you put Scotch Invisible tape over the aspherical lens, will it smooth out the beam? 2) Have you tried using the aspherical lens in conjuction with the reflector? Elektro

    Z-Power P7 Series - World’s Highest Brightness of 900 lm at 10-watt

Oh, cool. I get so busy I do not check out what others are doing, sometimes. My previous post shows I didn't know somebody already tried it (should have known), but now I see the light. I guess a drop in for a Maglite with the P7 would be a good idea. I have a few of the LEDs from LITEmania...

    Z-Power P7 Series - World’s Highest Brightness of 900 lm at 10-watt

Jake, I suppose I can make some heat sinks? But for what? A Mag? I have not seen what the beam is with the Mag reflector. I'm sure it works, but probably a huge amount of the light goes to sidespill. That might be okay. A hotlips type sink, 'Hotzip', would be what is needed. You do not have to...

    Z-Power P7 Series - World’s Highest Brightness of 900 lm at 10-watt

I think the 3" reflectors I have will work quite nicely with the P7. That's what I'll try first. Two of the P7 in a flashlight would be interesting, but that will depend on the availability of suitable optics/reflectors to come forth. Wayne

Elektro Lumens MT-I and MT-III Maglite Drop In

No, will not work in a C Mag, unless some extra spacers are made. I am not making the spacers now. Also, as some have observed, may not work with vintage 3D Maglites. Wayne

Elektro Lumens MT-I and MT-III Maglite Drop In

Either 3AA, or a single 18650, will work perfectly fine. I'm sure somebody has already done it, but, a good mod would be to chop a Maglite to be shorter, and then run the MT-3 in a Mag powered from the 18650, or from 3AA in a 1D settup. Wayne

Elektro Lumens MT-I and MT-III Maglite Drop In

The SSC P4 does not generat much heat, especially compared to Luxeon K2 LEDs. The stock Maglite is totally sufficient sinking. I've put up to six SSC P4 LEDs in a Mag, with absolutely no overheating problems whatsoever. But, a finned head does look cool. Although I've used the finned head in...

Elektro Lumens MT-I and MT-III Maglite Drop In

Orders placed before Dec 10 will ship by Dec 14th. Orders placed after that will ship on Dec 21. I do usually put that information on the shopping cart, normally, so you can know it, when you place the order. Right now it says new orders placed will ship by Dec 21. Wayne

Elektro Lumens MT-I and MT-III Maglite Drop In

Sounds like I didn't select a very good name to describe what it is, based on your conversations. I can rename it, of course, if it might be more suitable to do so. 'Monster In The Middle'? Get rid of the Monster? Wayne

Elektro Lumens MT-I and MT-III Maglite Drop In

Using an LED, like the SSC P4 LED, on a pedastal, in conjuction with a Mag reflector, gives a very narrow beam, from what I have seen of this design. It is a good design, and gives a very good narrow far throwing beam. I also have seen, (I have done this mod a number of times in the past, with...
