ZMZ67 What did you use to warm filter your sidewinder? Thanks

    Anyone think you're weird?

I think most people around me think I'm weird, I think I'm weird. I don't hear it as much now as I did 8 or 9 years ago when I first joined. My spouse and family have finally gotten used to the idea. They just now casually ask for my light when needed instead of searching throughout the house...

If you could only have one flashlight...

arc AA, simple, light, reliable, always there. Not much to go wrong. Enough lumens for most uses, long bat life.

What do you keep next to your bed?

surefire 6z with new batteries and a .45 as well as cmg red led for late night trips around the house. Others also, but these are the ones for bumps and navigation.

    Nitecore & Jetbeam opinions

I've had 2 D10's for almost 3 years. The first worked so well the first month I had it, I ordered another. The second's operation was not up to the first's. I thought about returning it but finally got it working, for a time. Then the first I bought started having issues. After about 6 months I...

    Talk me down - Surefire

I see you already ordered it, you won't be disappointed. I've been carrying my L1 for about 5 years. It's the most well built light I own, other than the other surefires I have. But the L1 has been with me everyday since I bought it and used daily. I've bought other lights of course and use them...

    What's your current EDC?

For the last 6 years, E2D, L1 and Peak brass Mattahorn that replaced my ARC AAA that walked away.

Love or hate the new Surefire melted design?

I'm on my third E2D in 6 years, the previous fell out of my pocket. I don't think I want anything that comes out of my pocket easier. And I like the old look more.

Best single-AA lights.... your nominations please

AA LED Mini Mag end click switch?

I have three Niteize IQ switches, all work as advertized. I don't know about durability yet, the oldest one is a little over 8 months and not used every day. But so far so good. The only issue is with rechargables, the levels on the switch quit working long before the batteries are empty. But...

    Should I Buy a Titan?

If you have that kind of disposable income and want pride of ownership for something unique, YES. If you want to actually use it, I'd buy 2 of the aluminum versions, or a couple of Mcgizmos, or 9 Nitecores, or 8 Fenixs, or ..... You get the idea. But that's just me. :-)

Help Choose a light for a Naval Aircrewman

The Fenix seems to meet your needs, as a suggestion. Get a Terelux or Nitize dropin1W led to replace the present bulb in the MiniMag and maybe even the multi stage tailcap. You would then have a backup and if you drop it just take out the led and tailcap if still operational and put them in a...

    Strike bezel's???

As others have said, with the proper training they could be usefull. For others as a last ditch effort it's probably better than nothing. I bought mine because I liked the way it looked, no practical reason at all except for the protected tail cap that doesn't come on in my pocket. And because...

    The importance of tailstanding

I've never really thought about the tail standing option of a light untill after I'd already bought it for other reasons. But it does come in handy upon occasion.

    Camping Lights

I just pack extra batteries in my Surefire battery holders. It always seems to work as I've never run dry.
