Help Me Select My Next LED Light That Uses A Larger Battery Than An 18650

What single 18650 flashlights throw further than (ANSI NEMA FL1 rated) ~700m? (I mean factory, not VN modded versions, and reflector not lens focused beam). I guess there is the Olight M2X-UT Javelot which is rated to 810m, only one I can think of off the top of my head. But then there's the...

    Test/review of Charger Panasonic BQ-CC55

I haven't seen any studies on this, comparing constant current NiMH charging vs Pulse charging NiMH cells, but I understand, anecdotally, that there are advantages to pulse charging over constant current. It goes something like this: "The time between pulses allows the battery's capacitive...

TRUE ΔT/Δt termination method consumer-grade NiMH AA/AAA chargers?

There doesn't seem to be many, if any, consumer grade NiMH chargers out there that use a true ΔT/Δt termination method for NiMH cells (delta of Temperature over delta of time). I believe this is the best method of charge termination for NiMH cells, because there is a very direct and specific...

    Test/review of Charger Panasonic BQ-CC55

Seems like a good little starter charger, for parents or people who just want to recharge the batteries and carry on without worrying about things. 3A pulses seem quite high for AA cells, but Panasonic know their stuff when it comes to batteries. Thanks for yet another excellent review.

    Manker MK35 Engineering Prototype (XHP 35 HI | 4 x 18650) In-depth Review

It's very interesting that the recently released prototype of this Manker MK35 has the exact EXACT same button as the earlier production UTorch UT02. The way it functions as a voltage indicator is also identical to one of the hidden modes of the UT02, with the same colour shades for different...

    Utorch UT02 review

Thanks for your info on the hidden mode, I had read about it before elsewhere, but had forgotten the details, so I found it in your notes, cheers. Edit: After a bit of experimentation, in the hidden mode, the "constant blue button" mode is actually the battery voltage mode, the same as the...

Question from a fairly new C-9000 user

There's no short risk to touching the metal part of the temperature sensor on the C9000. The metal part is electrically isolated, and is just for heat conductivity to the thermistors which are mounted underneath, and are non-conductive on their exterior...

Help Me Select My Next LED Light That Uses A Larger Battery Than An 18650

One good single 26650 thrower is the Manker U21 or the identical but cheaper Utorch UT02 (google for really good deal on the UT02). I've got the UT02 and it's got pretty impressive throw and useful spill, plus a good solid build quality. Very happy with it so far. There are some good youtube...

    Zebralight SC600Fd III Plus - XHP50

Definitely no visible or audible PWM on any mode with my one, and I'm pretty sensitive to PWM too. It may possibly use PWM, but if so, there is enough capacitance to smooth it out nicely.

    SkyRC — IFA 2014 — MC3000 charger-analyzer

Re: 2nd gen dreamcharger presented on IFA Berlin 2014… My channel 4 always runs about 2 degrees C lower than the other channels, but it tracks parallel. Doesn't bother me, it's not a lab grade instrument and I can account for the -2 deg C delta on ch4.

    Klarus XT11GT and XT12GT

I received my XT12GT today and I'm really happy with it. It's a really good value kit, especially when you consider you get the little keyring light charger unit, a quality micro USB cable, a holster, lanyard, quality protected 18650 cell, and the flashlight all included. I'm really happy with...

    Zebralight SC600Fd III Plus - XHP50

Yup, that was kind of my point ;) It was suggested that the XP-L would be a better, more efficient emitter for this flashlight, which is true on the efficiency score, but sadly - at the moment at least - you can't get an XP-L which has a colour temp in the neutral white ~5000K range, AND a good...

    Zebralight SC600Fd III Plus - XHP50

Trouble is, if you're after high CRI, the only XP-L emitters with >90 CRI are in the 3000K or warmer temp. (Aside: It would be good if Cree would get more into not just high CRI (R1-R8), but also high throughout the rest of the colour test spectrum too, like R9 and R13, and a high CQS score at...
