I thought the led tailcap was just a gimmick, until I owned one. I can't get over how often the leds are enough light, and the extended runtime sure helps. Come to think of it, I thought the A2 was just a gimmick, until I owned one. ;)

Computer only, I believe. They are in Hong Kong and wouldn't appreciate phone calls in the middle of (their) night. Email and web form for resolving complaints.
If you're pushing enough amps that it makes a difference (and LuxLuthor often does :-0 ), you can bypass the spring with a loop of thick gage copper wire, or a length of desoldering braid.
Ace and Home Depot for C-D range cells; they also have a few that would work with AA/CR123a. They also have a pretty good selection of O-rings, if the one you want is a common plumbing size ;)
I prefer KD - on the basis of two purchases from each. KD got both orders correct and shipped promptly; DX sent both in multiple shipments over a several-week period. I'm still waiting on items from an order a month ago.

I kind of like the advice to buy a cheap light first - then you'll appreciate the expensive ones! Pocket Incans (1xCR123a, 2xCR123a) are becoming niche products. LEDs in the same class offer (almost) equivalent performance with longer runtimes.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the E1e...

Here is a good chart.
