Re: Advice on Malkoff M91 Ok, here it is.....actually not looking too bad for something that has fallen off lots of roofs and been run over by a truck.....added the SF pen as it has been through just as much....

    Malkoff M91

Re: Advice on Malkoff M91 That's really good to hear - I've been in that particular situation more than a few times! Thank-you!

    Malkoff M91

Re: Advice on Malkoff M91 Yeah, I saw that one too and thought about it, but I really love the body of my C3, it has all those scratches and dings from a lot of memorable jobs (sentimental, I know). I have the G2X, which is 200 lumens, and I don't think you can remove the head and swap it :( ...

    Malkoff M91

Advice on Malkoff M91 Hi all, I have an SF C3 that I am looking to enhance and have been thinking about putting in one of the Malkoff M91 drop-ins. Has anyone had any experience with these lights? What are your opinions? The C3 currently has the standard incandescent bulb in it and I am...

    Throw or flood for mist/smog

If I remember correctly, an old army trick used to be to use a blue filter in foggy/misty conditions.

    Torture tests on SF lights?

I have done some damage to my C3 through normal (for me) use. I have had batteries explode in them - which pushed the rubber button out of its position - but after a clean and some new batteries, it was good as new. I have dropped it from a height of about 10-12 feet onto a hard tile floor, I...

    Australia - Panasonic CR123A

Yeah, I'm starting to get suspicious as well, the run times are just awful, and I was particularly surprised about the short runtime in the Fenix. I have ordered a couple of boxes of the Surefire batteries, they seemed, at least to my untrained mind, to be reasonably good.

    Australia - Panasonic CR123A

Hi there, Just an interesting observation with some batteries. I have a number of Surefire flashlights, and primarily use an M4 and a C3 as main lights with a Fenix P3D as a backup. These are all new torchs, which get regular maintenance. Once the original Surefire batteries were flat, I...

500+ light choices... which actually get used? Your input?

EDC: Surefire E2D or Surefire C2 Household: Surefire 9P Bush Rescue Service & Trg: Surefire C3 or 9P & Surefire M4 Emergency & Vehicle: Surefire G2L Light for strapping to my Tamiya Gravel Hound Radio Controlled Car: Fenix P3D-Q5 (silly, but fun!)

I caused some Light-envy last night!

That happens to almost everyone who asks to have a look at my Surefires!! They point it to some object far away and say "wow, thats bright", then they point it straight into their eyes to confirm!! Very funny!

Flashlight SOS rescue in the news

Hi there, Just thought I'd add my opinion. I am part of a volunteer unit in Australia that, among other things, has particpated in search and rescue activities. On a recent search in a national park, the lost individual happened to have a light that was capable of intermittent flashes at a...

Big News for Australians - Launch of the Mark VI Eveready Dolphin

Sounds cool. My grandfather had one when I was a kid. He had it for years and years and it had been dropped, kicked, hit, you name it - it still worked though. Does anyone know what the output of these things will be? I had a quick look for a Dolphin website, but couldn't find much.

    LED Flickering - Fenix P3DQ5

Cool. Thanks guys, it was the batteries. I didn't even suspect it would be the batteries because I haven't run it for anywhere near the time that fenix states it will last (batteries were brand new). Perhaps 45 minutes all up at the most - and not all on turbo mode. Thanks again.
