Also, just to clarify....the confusion over the chrome #2 also gave me a chance to stop and think of the Osram bulbs that I would want to use with these, and taking the time to go look up the GYxxx incompatibility. Otherwise, these lights look awsome. I'm sure everyone will love using them.

WOW, that was fast. got your light today(mailman was standing at the end of the driveway as i got home from work today). it looks much nicer in person, than on the computer. as soon as the indian's game is over, i'll introduce it to the neighbors.. i love the light, fit and finish is excellent. comfortable to hold.

thank you for your work,
yak-28.

Mine arrived yesterday. Superb chrome finish and excellent work on the entire flashlight! Also like the heat-sink mod. Tried the 62138 WOW!
Thanks

I've got a few hotwire-newbie questions, tried to figure it out looking into various hotwire threads but am not sure about these.
Anyone knows how much lumens/runtimewise can be expected from the 64611 bulb?
Would the USL bulb fit?
Hottest/brightest bulb configuration?

Thanks,Alex

Orsam 64611 is 1350 bulb lumens at 12 volts and will jump to over 1500 at 14.4 volt. Run time is about 20 minutes using 1800mAh high current batteries.
As far as I know, USL using Osram 62138 which will work with 11 cells and offered with this flashlight.

I see :duh2:.
Thanks for the info.
One thing though,I've read just about the so called USL bulb being driven at 14.4V and upwards, they must mean another bulb then I think.

Greetz,Al

Edit:
Now I got it!
I didn't meant the USL bulb.I had the 64623 mistakenly as USL bulb in mind.
So would the 64623 work too?

Osram 62138, 64610 and 64611 are G6.35 with 1mm pin thickness while Osram 64623 or 64625 bulbs are GY6.35 with 1.25mm pin thickness. Therefore won't fit.

Since the FM3V2 was listed as an option, does that mean that I could order a black one of these and get a black FM3V2 as well?

Fantastic Light! Super bright... Much more so than the 1450L

62138 on 11 AA & 1 dummy with 3 inch head (gets hot with 2 inch head) is something to see. Recharge through tailcap is efficient and effective.

Great Light

FM,
I'll take 2 more in the pewter.
Number 3 and 4, I believe.
Been running the first with 12 Elites powering the 100W bulb with no problems. Adding the FM3 gives a nice long throw and good focus.
pp coming shortly

this note is for all of you who are missing out on five's awesome collaboration of parts that do define a simple awesome flashlight.

i am using one of his 12AA-3d setups with the 50W 64611 osram bulb, and it's sick ! double the runtime and bright as you may not even know the difference. . i have not even tried the 100W bulb, as it almost seems brighter than my USL.

regards,
zach

I just need the 12AA to 3D battery holder. I have one of your earlier models of this light but the battery holder broke. If you can sell me just the battery holder please let me know. I have really missed being able to use this light since I have not had it available. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

#5 CHROME 12AA RECHARGEABLE 3D M*G $185
1 BOROFLOAT LENS $ 5.50
1 SMOOTH 12.7MM REFLECTOR $ 25
1 DUMMY AA $ 8
3 OSRAM 62138 (3X$8) $ 24
CONUS SHIPPING $ 12
TOTAL (BEFORE I GO FM HEAD CRAZY) $259.50

I WOULD JUMP ON A MATCHING CHROME 2" OR 2.5" THROW MASTER BUT I AM UP IN THE AIR ON THE 3" HEADS FOR A STEALTHY SUPER THROWER.

HOW IS THE BI PIN SOCKET/SWITCH MODDED? HOW MANY AMPS OR WATTS CAN IT TAKE? IS THE 62138 THE LIMIT (64623 AND HIGHER JUST ASKING FOR A MELTDOWN WITHOUT A MOSFET)?

WHAT IS THE BEST TO WORST FOR LASERLIKE NONSPILL SUPER THROW FOR THIS LIGHT FROM THE FIVEMEGA HEAD ARSENAL?

THANKS - HANGMAN
