The aluminum reflector will control the spot or spill. Smoother gives more throw or spot as you may call it. Light Orange Peel or LOP begins to lessen the throw and increase the side spill and you go through Smooth, LOP, MOP, HOP, then stippled, LS, MS, and HS. The heavy stipple puts up a wall of light with limited throw, ie.spot.

Now the wide heads will compound the effect of the reflector and it's finish.

I just need the 12AA to 3D battery holder. I have one of your earlier models of this light but the battery holder broke. If you can sell me just the battery holder please let me know. I have really missed being able to use this light since I have not had it available. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about changing the bi-pin socket, but I'm not sure you would need to, since the 62138 is easily capable of lighting paper on fire within a few seconds. At least the 62138 in my USL is...

P.S. The 62138 is for use with 11 cells; get one of these dummy cells if you want to go that route.
