I imagine the 5000K will be brighter by a few thousand lumens. It may not surpass the Q70's 110K lux though.

I am a throw guy...Of course I will recommend Spec 3. I don't care about lumen outside of the hot spot 90% of the time. This is especially true for me when a light gets larger than jacket pockets.

Cool... I feel exactly the same, only I would be even more curious the know the numbers if this light were fitted with four XHP50.2 emitters. It would still provide ample flood light, and the hotspot would be like... kaboom... big lux! Imagine the R50vnP Xhp50 SD TIMES FOUR! It could be the perfect light to fit in between a Monster FloodVN and a X65vn. Like a mega 6XLvn!
Or maybe four XHP50.2 might not come together to form the beam my childlike mind is imagining? I dunno

He's shaving the 70 not the 70.2.
Yeah... the difference in lumen output will be less noticeable than the difference in throw. And I'll bet you granny's best quilt that over 90% will pick either spec 1 or 2.
