I am always happy to cook for the group. I ususally dont burn stuff either. Bacon and eggs for breakfast.... WOOOHOOOO.
The closer we get to the date the better I will know what food I plan on bringing.
I have gotten a 3rd campsite so lets get 8 more people signed up !!!!!!!!
See you all there !!!

Thanks MizVic for getting the extra campsite. Reserve America limited me to two on any consecutive date.

Please post what you plan to bring when you're ready and I'll add it to our menu. :)

JimH, is your VSS-1 able to be carried in small sections?
Yes, if you are an 800 lb gorilla.

The light alone weighs 340lbs, Then there are the 4 group 31 AGM batteries, the mounting pedestal, and the controller all mounted on a small utility trailer.

I have added a gas/electric hybrid drive system to the trailer so that it is self propelled, but only at about 1 mph (maneuvering speed). Also it needs a 6ft wide path.

We'd never get it up the trail. Perhaps we can find a clearing in the trees from the campground road so your light will be able to reach a worthy target.

I can bring one or two of them, meaning what I can carry in my van, this is a long trip for me and a trailer is not an option, maybe 3 will fit in my Silhouette van ?,
Funny you mentioned it, I wanted to do that on the first place but got concerned about being seen as showing off or something.

PS. how did you know that I have Segways??

Christian,

Are you bringing your Seqway? That would be a hoot.

I have not seen any post on the utensils needed, should we have a list for that also??

If Sprint has coverage in the park, we can go high speed on my system no problem, some one will have to set up the wireless network and WI-Fi from my system, that could be fun,

I will bring enough portable power to be self sufficient energy wise for a month of camping in 12 to 240 volts some DC and AC 50 hertz.
A month of camping with everything on it. show (off) and tell time I suppose.

Christian Stclaire

Yes, but I think it's only around the park visitor center.

JimH, is your VSS-1 able to be carried in small sections? If so, there is a 1 mile trail from the campsite to the observation deck. It has a commanding view looking down on Santa Cruz and the ocean.

Thanks,

Who is bringing the helicopter...??:DI think we need to airlift this puppy..

I remember now, this is when I reconnected with David Allen from Micro Photon who I know since 1997 having the same distributor Bob Crane from C.Crane Company, I had not not seen David since a trade show in Salt Lake City Utah in 2002, Time flies when you have a good time I suppose.

Walter Bachtiger from Gatlight was there too, also it was the first year for Seoul Semi to be at the PK party, did you try the Segway on the Shot Show floor or PK party?

Christian StClaire

You let me ride yours at the SHOT show a couple of years ago.

I saw you at the party, but you let me ride it for about half an hour while we talked outside the tent display hall across the street from the brick and mortar Vegas convention center. I had a little trouble getting the hang of it at first, but, like you said, once you turn off your brain, it's easy.

I was the one who introduced you to Walter. I figured you two would have a lot in common. I'm surprised you haven't collaborated on a project yet.

I am IN! BOTH nights! Will be myself and one dog, a gentle giant named Meeshka.

I will have all my own gear, food, utensils, etc, and will probably have enough to share if needed :)

Tent camper, coming in a pickup truck...I have some firewood also I'll bring along (not sure what type of wood, tree came down few weeks back, somewhat green atm, but it'll burn once we get coals rollin...)

Uhhh, what else...oyea, nano-oil and I need to chat, I've been wanting to try his product for awhile, hope he brings samples ;)

Potluck...I'm not much of a cook, but a mean BBQ'er, I can do cheeseburgers over a Grilliput portable grill with different choices of cheese and toppings) friday night, for anyone who wants some...are there any vegetarians attending? I'll bring Bocas too...

*edit* scratch the firewood, apparently my landlord has decided to take it home, but I'll buy some on the way up, enough for a night or two...Oak, I hate buying the greeny pine they sell at CA state parks...too much smoke! Anyone have a good batoning blade we can use to split? I used to have a maul but it got stolen...

Meeshka is a 108 pound malamute/shepherd mix, I wonder if we could convince her to don the harness she used to pull my nephews around with one more time (Just kidding!)

Hello Tedjanxt,

I will bring enough Nano-Oil to oil/lubricate/grease up/etc. any of your flashlights/mechanical stuff. One of the CPF member liked it so much that he even suggested using it for frying his FF (french fries), that was John Moore from UK who actually started the first article about my NanoLubricant back in July 2007 which started the historical debacle on CPF, LOL VS (very sad).

Also I will ask Walter Bachtiger from LumenCraft.net Gatlight, if he would like to join us, he has been kept so much more busy after an article in Popular Mechanics in 2007, it is amazing what a few lines in a major media can do.
In case some of you have not seen the article here it is:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/home_journal_news/4233287.html
or
http://www.lumencraft.net/Testimonials.htm

I always feel good using/handling and seeing creative pictures of it so here is one of my favorite and the reason is: it represent most of Walter's creations and has the unprotected battery showing, having been in Scuba Diving designing for over 2 decades, the unprotected concept is both provoking and inspiring in the same time.

Regards to all.

PS. I am purchasing a lot of Lithium Ion industrial grade rechargeable cells, cylindrical with a capacities 2200 mah and 2600 mah

Questions: is this by any chance valuable to CPF members ?? I could pass along the purchasing power that I have to you guys,
They come with a soldering tab that can be removed for use in battery holders, the cells with no tabs can and will be gold plated for conductivity in some of my other developments.

A penny for your thoughts , I am also looking for a number of: Lithium Ion / Lithium Polymer Chargers:
1- one has to be high amps and I have specified Triton 2 at 7 amps since my project is multi C high discharge and I would like to recharge at multi C / (high current) as well (it is for an electric vehicle) and the first thing the controller is going to see/feel, is the high amp availability of super capacitors, I could bring some of these also for fun and show and tell.
I am also designing a flashlight with those super capacitors as well,

2- just a simple low amp single cell charger and there I have many choices, it any of you could emit some opinions on choices, I would appreciated it.

Oh Boy, that was a long StClaire PS.

You and me both, Bubba. I'm totally stoked for this...

And *definitely* bring Walter! Hogtie him and put him in place of a Segway! The Gatlight is *the* Holy Grail of flashaholism to me...wish I could afford one.

Ah, my pickup is just a pickup, not a camper. I'm a tent pitcher...however, the dog sleeps in the truck, since she ate her way through my last tent. If there's any way I can get a parking spot onsite and pitch tent next to it, it would be ideal. Plus, makes a great spot for tailgate cooking and lantern hanging and whatnot. Also, I don't wanna haul firewood 100 yards haha...

If there's room for it, cool. If not, we will make do :)
