Cleaning and Caring for Flashlights - Deoxit, Deoxit Gold, Nyogel

What kind of tools should i utilize when applying these products? Toothbrush? steel wool? Q-tip? Do they require scrubbing?

I wipe the threads with toilet-paper and a q-tip for the left-over residue. For cleaning contact-points I use a q-tip and a little bit of alcohol. Apply nyogel on the threads, little bit on the o-rings, and then screw the pieces back together. Twist the parts a few times, so the nyogel spreads out on the threads/o-rings.

If i buy the Detoxit gold stuff do i also need to buy the regular detoxit 100 red stuff as well or does gold do everything the other one does?
