AccuWeather for 19/9/2014 says chance of showers - 15C/8C

Not got 20th available yet (and it is way to early to be accurately predicting British weather !!!

Hi

Visited Postern Hill Campsite today !

Happened to be nearby.

Lovely chap running it says we can turn up and pitch from 10:00 so we can get a head start on the day if you all wish ?

Lunch Pubs about 15min away in Marlborough (walking) or found a nice pub near Silbury Hill (Waggon and Horses) that does all day food on Saturdays but we may have to book on the day if we want to get in and out as it gets pretty busy apparently - Plenty of other pubs in the area too.

We can pitch in a nice group (probably) as the Warden says he will warn others we are a group, but he can't enforce/reserve the grass pitches as anyone can pitch were they wish (but in practice we should be good)

I'll post pics if I get a chance . . .

Possible places to pitch - Anywhere to the right of the white line.
Toilet Wash block is central to the site.

Doing my very best to attend this one but can't promise anything...If it works I might have to come one day earlier (Eurostar is gettign super expensive). Would anyone be able to spare a room for me maybe ? (I'm ok with couch surfing )

Standard visit is Saturday leaving Sunday - but - if anyone wants to start early, and include Friday night as well, I can make the extra night too.

Bruce, I'd be happy to, if you can put up with my appalling driving and lack of sense of direction! Don't think I can do Friday night as well, so I'd be leaving Saturday morning for the west!

They have shower facilities and we are allowed a fire pit or barbecue. Fire on the floor is not allowed. I'm really looking forward to it

That's strange, I spoke to the campsite this morning and they confirmed they have showers. Based upon that information I posted. I then received a reply to say that they do have showers.

Back to Nature campers: Toilets but no showers

• Ocknell, New Forest Hampshire
• Postern Hill, Savernake Forest, Wiltshire

Dogs are welcome here and there is a toilet block with hot and cold running water. There are no showers on the campsite but there is a leisure centre just 1.5 miles away that provides showers at a reasonable price for campers.

Still not going to stop me !!!!!!
