This looks like it's going to be a nice light. However with all the engineering and manufacturing it will probably end up being $1000 plus, if you are going to sell these. Nothing wrong with that but if you are trying to build a light like this to sell for $500 it will more than likely not happen. Just look at the cost of the batteries to get a decent run time. Those alone would have to sell for over $150. Then there is your time, inevitable warranty issues you need to cover yourself of, etc. Add to that materials of construction, hardcoat anodizing, assembly, etc and you pile up the cash...

Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing it finalized.

Working on a titanium headlamp right now, but I read this post and that design is really cool. If you need it machined up, let me know. Right now I have more machine time than I have toolpaths (engineering student). I would prefer solidworks or mastercam, but I can use it in whatever you have. Just need to make some more chips by the end of the term.
