Eneloop pro over a year old in package

I just received a 16 pack of eneloop pro AAA from an authorized dealer and the date code is 2/21.

This means the batteries have been sitting in the package for over a year. I was hoping to receive fresher batteries.

Should I return these? I didn't know if this will affect performance short or long term?

I doubt it has affected performance to any measurable degree. I have AAA Eneloops that were purchased in 2009 that go through a test cycle and charge only once per year and have not lost any performance or capacity. Some of them sit in storage and are not used in the meantime.

I would just charge them up and use them.

I had a 4 pack ( of regular eneloops) from 07 I'd forgotten about but found in 015. They still had 35% charge and perform as they should.

My eneloop pro triple A's were a year old when they arrived and since 016 work as they should.

It's up to you, but there's probably nothing to be concerned about.

Eneloops work well no matter when you use them. I never had an issue with any of them, except for 2 AAs which may just have been overcharged. A year after manufacturing, they should be good as new. Top them off and use them when you need them.

NOT an issue to be concerned about.

BTW --
I am still DAILY using AA Sanyo Eneloops
which were mfg. in 2006 !
