A quick question about the surface finishing of these lights. How is the knurling? I had a similar liteflux at some point, but the knurling was glossy and smooth, more cosmetic than useful.

Is the knurling on this light quite grippy, or more glossy and smooth?

It's glossy and smooth, but I can easily twist the light to either preset level with one hand.

I've had two, lost one, and they are grippy at the knurling area. No problem twisting with one hand. Excellent light and I wear it 24/7, except for my showers, around my neck. Good enought for me for a primary EDC. I do carry a more throwy light when needed.

Hey Gunga,

I've got a couple of these beauties and I agree with the last two posts. Easy one-handed operation. This light is definitely a keeper!!

Bullzeyebill,
Any suggestions for a lanyard to carry the Extreme III?

Mine came with my CMG Infinity Ultra that I acquired a few years back. Strong cord, and breakaway design.

Question, what size split ring works with the Extreme III so the light can tail stand?

Re: FS: More Extreme III's made.

The split ring size is 10mm. If I'm not mistaken, I think photon fanatic may have had some in that size. Sorry, I don't carry any split rings.
