Garage door opener issues

Recently, my garage door opener quit functioning. The button on the wall is still lit up and the program light comes on when you hit the button so I know it is getting power. When you try to activate it, all I get is a "click"... lights don't come on or anything. The sensors are aligned and are functioning. I was thinking it could be the capacitor, but wouldn't the opener lights come on if that was the case? Faulty logic board? Thoughts?

I can't help with electronics, but I fixed our garage door by replacing a worm drive gear. Could it be that some mechanical part has jammed? I would work back from the door and rule out mechanical failure. Perhaps you already have.

I would Google the brand and model for issues. I usually find results on how to fix it.
Let us know more details.
