Parts arrived about an hour ago. 
. Fired it all up from a 12v dc supply and all is good. Nice narrow beam, plenty of spill too, and the colour temp is nice too. It gets very hot after 15 mins sitting inside its aluminium dive light housing so I'll probably try some thermal tape or goo between the ballast case and the metal housing to get the heat into the water. I need to trim about 1mm off the length of the ballast as it's just a tiny bit too long so the bulb touches the front glass..
