Well last night I got the some horrendous spyware.
Spent hours trying to get rid of it with no joy, when you do a search in google all it does is fetch up adverts and porn and it just appears like a regular google search. TBH, I think it's more likely a virus or trojan but anyway went onto firefox today and I think it's great, although I have come across a site that doesn't work properly.

Hey, I just had this happen two days ago as well. It only happens on Explorer; if you use any other browser, it works as normal.

Wonder what it is? For now, Adaware and Spybot is of little help.

To browse the forum here, I always use the one called "MYweb4net". Once I click the pre-organized group named "CPF", it will automatically open 15 tab of different post like LED,incan,GB,mod,etc..

Everybody sings the praises of Firefox but I find several pages it can't render correctly including my banking information. PC World in their browser reviews pointed this out as well despite giving Firefox their highest ranking out of the browsers they tested. People have posted that's because some web pages are made exclusively for IE instead of using standard code but PC World said Firefox was the only browser that had trouble rendering some web pages.

Not sure whether this applies in your situation, but for me, I had problems with a banking site till I got a Java plugin for Firefox to work.

Now Java, that is something I have a serious personal issue with. But I won't go into it here.

Another vote for Opera. Been using it for about 2 years. Had a few problems with some sites and had to use IE but the newest version seems much better.

Opera is "lighter on its feet" and much smarter than MSIE about alot of things but still has many issues of its own both big and small, rendering, compatability, memory managment etc... I use IE for the jobs that Opera can't handle and Opera for the jobs that IE just pisses me off. For CPF I use Opera.

I have Firefox configured so that three tabs open up at start-up: my web-based e-mail, my customized home page at one of those big ol' portal websites, and (of course) CPF.

Open up all pages you want to auto open on startup,
Go to Tools/Options/General
click on the Use Current Pages button in the Homepage settings.

That should do it.

I'm really trying to like firefox. But I just keep coming across web pages it can't render correctly. Obscure ones as well as more well known. Like tonight, I was looking at sites to try to learn how to repair a broken cast iron toilet flange and I came across a site that couldn't be rendered correctly by firefox. Most text overrun and overlap. I wonder if 1.1 will fix this problem. Meanwhile I think I will download the IE extensions listed in pcworld to add features such as tabbed browsing.
