Actually I'm looking for something a little less tactical and more for every day use at work for crawlspaces and attics right now I have a Fenix P3D which is severely outdated and starting to give me problems. Something with good throw but maybe a smaller diameter head that you can slide in your pocket if need be

That would be a huge crawl space or attic. MH20 at 220 meters throw . MH20GT at 362 meters Nitecore website . I have no way to verify

The results of my research follow. Not all of the recommenations are super throwers. In addition to the flashlights recommended above, I added a couple of budget models at the end.

I might try the Astrolux S2. In fact, I did! Actually, I bought the aluminum BLF Kronos X6/X5 flashlight set. In the original group buy, I paid $52, including shipping and insurance, for two flashlights. The X5 is the larger of the two, and is the same flashlight as the Astrolux S2. Overall, this a relatively small flashlight, smaller, for instance, than a Convoy C8.

I have read that the EagleTac S200C2 XP-L HI also produces good candela in a compact size. I do not, however, own that one.

Olight M2X-UT Javelot164,000Source: OlightWorld. This CPF post says highest output is obtained with 2x18350. Output dims faster on 1x18650.

Eagletac T20C2 Mk. II11,500Source: Eagletac. Posted candela is for Cree XM-L2 U2 emitter. Candela should be higher with Cree XP-G2 R5 emitter.

BLF Kronos X6 Cu/SS52,000Source: DB Custom. Emarkd measured the same flashlight at 58,600cd. The copper/stainless-steel version is also sold as the Astrolux SS. The less expensive aluminum version is sold as the Astrolux S2.
Convoy C8 HIestimated more than 60,000I could not find a source for the candela, however, with a larger reflector, it should be higher than the Astrolux S2. On the other hand, the stock Convoy driver does not drive the emitter as hard as the Astrolux does. If you buy your Convoy at Mountain Electronics, you can specify an upgraded driver.

Are any of the handhelds from zebralight any good?

As a ZebraLight fan, all I can give you is the predictable, "They are all good!"

The SC600 Mk. III HI throws the farthest, but its candela measures only in the high teens, around 17,000 to 18,000 candela.

ZebraLight has a new model, the ZebraLight SC600Fd Mk. III Plus. On paper it looks great: Cree XHP50 emitter, 1600 lumens max, 5000K CCT, and 93-95 CRI (Ra). It is not, however, a great thrower. Candela has not been published, but my guess is that it will clock in between 5,000 and 10,000 candela.

As yet, there have not been any reviews.

PID (temperature control) will probably begin lowering output from max almost as soon as you turn it on. The SC600 does not have enough heat-shedding capability to sustain that kind of output for very long.
