Thanks again. I went into the Mall today to two different stores. The Casios were too big and gaudy for me. The lights on the analog were not bright enough anyway. The only ones I liked were the analog chronometers and they don't have any backlighting according to salesperson.

I'm going to check with Pebble to see if it has auto light.

Have you checked out the G-Shock GW2500? Its not over-sized. Its still "big" compare to like a Traser commander, but its not super-sized.

I found the LED to be reasonably bright in the dark. But your application may have special requirement for the brightness.

I think the auto light in Pebble only works with a press of buttons.
