Lighthound has a Solarforce P60 model...I don't have any experience with it but it appears to be better than a 5mm LED.

I bought an Inova X1MT-UVT for a trip to Death Valley a few years ago. It worked great. Great build quality, simple UI and less than $30.

wow that one seems like a real winner!! What is the wave length of it and what can it detect?? Paint job in cars? Fluids? Fake money? Rodent/cat/dog excrements etc?

He would like something he could put in his pocket. Probably AA or cr123. He's going to hunt mushrooms at night. I guess they glow when uv light is shined on them.
