Re: M2Xvn?

For what it's worth...

Factory M2X Domeless LED draw ~5.2A direct drive, Celing bounce no reflector ~55Lux
XML2 U2 PDTn draw ~4.7A direct drive, Celing bounce no reflector ~60 Lux
XML2 U3 Dedome Draw ~4.7A
direct drive, Celing bounce no reflector ~62 lux
Random old probably U2 Dedome Draw ~4.7A direct drive, Celing bounce no reflector ~60 lux
Random old probably U2 dedome Draw ~4.3A direct drive, Celing bounce no reflector ~52 lux

Tested with Sony VTC5. These are just one sample of each "class" so take it with a grain of salt.

IMO I am just going to stick to U3 for max performance and efficiency with a PDTc like tint. It might draw less current than some old U2 but this is not happening consistent enough with reliable boost in brightness. At least not until I test a bunch more samples. Stick with PDTn if you like this tint.

Re: M2Xvn?

Post 1 updated. I will add outdoor beam shots later

Prices are great if you don't add too many options. Great performer for just the base price. :)

That's my feeling--Pick the Tint you like that little bit of amperage difference on the top end is nothing

Re: M2Xvn?

If I decided to send you MY light and picked THESE options it would be $80?

I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! WHAT ABOUT SINGLE MODE DD LIKE MY M25C2vn?

1) +$35 Driver Upgrade: 5 minute High mode timer, High ~4.5-5A
Pick your mode edition below:
SL Edition : H-M-L-ML
Always starts on H, 3-4.2V, Single IMR Cell Only

2) +$25 LED copper heatsink sand flat and buff shinny + new arctic silver the
rmal compound,
larger LED wires, switch and spring mod

3) +$5 "V54" hand engraved

5) +$15 - U3 is brightest and is most cool white

What is your estimate for throw[cd's] w/ the version I took?

Almost always more expensive to mail in light to mod VS buying directly from me. The price with the mods above + shipping = $100

$70 if you want it single mode DD and the applicable mods above.

I have no numbers estimate.

Re: M2Xvn?

Can't you get closer to that than ~ 4.5 to 5.0A?

I wonder how much more throw it will have than stock[3.8A] w/ additional .7 to 1.2A?

Even Direct drive of a fresh charge Sony VTC5 and a good U3 sample I could only get around 5A with my Fuke 87V meter. I have a much cheaper $12 model MAS830 meter that I bought while I was in school that would read 6-7A :)

Re: M2Xvn?

olight tried really hard to buck the status quo and join the ranks of the dedomed (non-domed? dome less?) this might be an opportunity for you to blow every one away with a DOME ON set up that improves the tint...let me get a +1 for everyone who wants this added to the list of options :naughty:

Re: M2Xvn - High Quality Budget Thrower

-I think the First light on the LAST gif should "read" M2X STOCK DOMELESS NOT M25C2 STOCK DOMELESS?

-What about an XPG2 OPTION?

-
Could you use a Two X 18650 CONFIGURATION? See picture below!

M3X BODY W/ M2X HEAD. IT IS ALMOST 1" SHORTER THIS WAY. M3X HEAD NEXT TO IT.

Good question!

I did that comparison outside[sorry no pics.] and it is noticeable[not major but noticeable] that the M2X Stock[~164Kcd] domeless out throws the S200C2vn[~122Kcd].

Wow! When you say "stock domeless" do you mean completely stock or do you mean Vinh's base model with the current bump too?

Re: M2Xvn - High Quality Budget Thrower

Good lord if DBCstm's lux measurements are accurate he's getting very nearly 300kcd (297kcd) out of this thing! Of course he swapped the driver and is pushing 6+ amps but that's nuts.

Vinh, on your "base" model, are you swapping any of the wires or are you JUST cranking up the current.

I REALLY want one of these....

Re: M2Xvn - High Quality Budget Thrower

IMPORTANT QUESTION!

Why didn't you[and could you please] have a gif of the M2Xvn "U3" VS. M25C2vn "U3"?

I think it would be a better and more fair comparison than comparing it to the M25C2vnT XPG PDTc.

I have the M25C2vn U3!

Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,
