Hello Eric,

no one has never asked before an adapter for side by side 18650 cells in a mag host? I need an adapter that can be switched for parallel or series for18650 cells....adattable also for 2D mag to 6D...if possible obvious!

Please let me know, thanks.

Hello Flex76italy,

The adapters I build are non-adaptable to alternate configurations. If you have a specific configuration need, contact me via PM with that specific configuration for a quote on a custom unit. I have done a few side-by-side adapters for mags in the past as custom orders. As far as adapting them to work with different length hosts, that's just a matter of having dummy spacers made up to fill the empty space.

do you have a 2 x 18650 adapter that would fit a 3d maglite body? thanks

Hello hippymill,

Most people would just use a tube spacer to fill the void between the cell diameter and the inside diameter of the mag host and run the cells end-to end. In the case of a 2x18650>3D configuration, you would also probably need a short dummy cell to make up the difference in length, and a minor modification to the tailcap spring in order to make contact with the cell properly. Generally it is more common to do 18XXX cell conversions in C body maglites because they are a better use of space for cells mounted end-to-end.

OddMod Please advise ...
Could the 3aa(x3)=3D OddMod adaptor be constructed/wired with the 3AA (side by side) in parrallel and at the same time be wired in series for each 'D Cell' equivalent? This would limit total voltage to 3x(3x1.5v)=max 4.5v (if lithium aa's are used).

I am trying to adapt the maximum number of energizer lithium AA bats within a 3D Mag, while not exceeding the 9.0v max rating for the Malkoff 3-6D dropin.

The Malkoff Dropin info cautions:
"The current output to the led is 1000ma on 3, 4, 5 or 6 D cells. It can be operated with rechargeable cells as long as the maximum input of 9 volts is not exceeded."

CPF folk feedback appreciated also ...
