I use the 17670 battery without any problems. Question, was the 520 Lumens from a 123-2 X on turbo or from a 123-2 Turbo X on turbo (sorry, not trying to hijack thread).

I use an AW 17670 with the label still on. It's a tight fit but nothing a little light tapping wont cure when it comes time to charge. IIRC Selfbuilt says you get slightly diminished output on turbo with a 17670 but i dont notice it and i'll take the runtime advantage over 2 RCR.

I use the 17670's in mine but tend to get flickering as well. I love the light though. It really is a great value. I mainly use it as a bedside light moonlight/turbo!

Selfbuilt rated the Quark "X" 1232 on the turbo setting at 520 Ansi lumens with Peak Throw 3,400 lux@1m.

The Quark Turbo "X" should also be around 500 Ansi lumens with Peak Throw 10,000 lux@1m.

It is easier to use these terms : Turbo is used by Fenix for maximum. If we talk Quark language we should say : moonlight, low, medium, high, maximum (instead of turbo).

I have a cool white and a neutral 123x2 X. The cool white I run a 17670 in it without any issues. The neutral one flickers and dims in and out when I run a 17670 in it. I called 4Sevens about it and they said "We recommend the use of two cr123a or two rcr123a (rechargeable) in this light. 17670 cells are not supported". I was not happy about that as the other one works fine and I do not like burning through primaries. So now the light is out of my daily use rotation.

I have TurboX both cool white and neutral white, Quark 123X2 (XM-L) and The Lightbox and i have following results:

Lumens are based on this review and results of my Q123X2 with my lightbox so they are just estimated but anyway.

TurboX CW with 17670 starts at 504 lumens and within 15 min drops to 388 lumens and varies between 381 and 341 lumens (due to thermal regulation i guess..) for most of the run and after 1 hour output starting to drop.

CW does flickers but NW not.
Then i used 2xRCR123 (AW) for both lights but then they draw 2.5 amps which is too high for what is intented for this light.

In summary: i have nothing but troubles with TurboX:s. Need to contact Foursevens again.
CW has been sent once already (circuit inside head did rattle) for repair.

17670 cells are not supported

Voltage range is stated 3.0-9.0 volts so TurboX should work fine with either 17670 or 2xRCR123. In this case there is faulty units (two for me) or something wrong with entire TurboX line.

NW is actually lost at the moment so next thing to do is to write to "have you ever lost your EDC" topic :(

I've bought 6 Quark 123x2's for my work crew over the years. We all use AW 17670's in them without a problem. All have fit without taking the labels off. Some tighter than others.
