Just picked one of these up and it really is a cool old light. 8-D's or a 6 volt lantern battery. I didn't have any 6 volt bulbs but had an extra for my 5-D light so I'm under driving it a bit talk about old school incandescen! against my better judgment I put a cheap 30 lumen led dropin in her and it's actually very nice. I love the form factor of this thing.

My Dad had one of those lunch box size lights circa 1960's. As a kid, I remember lugging it around camp grounds at night going to latrines.

...8D cells are worth more than the lantern 😁

Well it's real old school but I put a 6 volt lantern battery in it and with a HPR50 bulb it's a damn Useful beam With a ton of thro.

Yep that's actually where I ordered from. that bulb made a world of difference.
