Return Wire On HID Bulbs

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the outer coating on the return wire of an HID bulb is made of. I just completed an HID mod and the spot that wire leaves drives me nuts and I was considering trying to take it off. To me it looks like it is ceramic and if so I would think that it would break off quite easily given the right tool. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yes, ceramic. Probably most of us that hang out here have crushed off that ceramic coating on some of our mode. Makes the shadow a little less noticeable in some cases. I use needle nose pliers taking small sections at a time.

Thank you. That's what I figured. I knew there had to be someone here that has tried it
