I also potted the whole board inside a can with AA epoxy to try to suck the heat away from the board and emitter. The whole light gets warm pretty quickly - a good sign!

It's just great...cept the new u bins have a lower die height so there is a big donut close up...

I noticed that too but also the lower die height gets more light into the corona and makes a less hot hotspot, which I like - more of a directed flood-type beam that I really like as a working light.
