Re: SF M6 Softstart / 3 level Incan Driver Switch

AW,

You list the default level as 30%. Can this be user changed to 60%?

Ideally, I would like it to come on at 60% as I mentioned. Is it then just a matter of quickly pressing the switch to change levels? Also, if "scrolling" through the levels is it (hopefully) JUST low-med-high or do you also have to go through the flashing level.

Have scanned through several of the Mag version sales threads and didn't really see a good description of how to operate it. I imagine it is quite simple and straightforward once you try it out, but sometimes I can be a little dense!

Thanks,
Tim

Re: SF M6 Softstart / 3 level Incan Driver Switch

jdriller : PM sent.

Tim W : It has memory function ( Please refer to post #1 - - Last brightness setting memory ( default level - 30% ) ). All you have to do is turn off the light at 60%. Next time you power up it will be the same 60% level. If you remove the tail cap or lock out, it 'll reset itself to default low.

~ The clickie version will take couple weeks and I don't have a final pricing yet. Cost will be lower than the soft start version. ~

Tim, the flashing level is nicely out of the way. You get to it by holding down the switch from the off position.

I 'll do some design change on the metal piece to fit a McClickie. Size will be made to match the SF stock cap. I still have enough metal pieces to make about 20 clickies.
One for me please.

. . .

petrev : What's a M6-Short McClicky ? How short you want?

Hi Andrew

Simple answer - Too Short !
and not worth the hastle for a very few people.

Long Answer (skip if not interested !)

Same approximate room as my Short Tail Cup needed to accomodate 6xAW17500 cells in my custom carrier.

The Short Tail Cup gives just 1.05 mm less than the internal space available with the standard cup removed (1.05mm above plastic retaining ring - My plastic retaining ring seems to be about 1.1mm above the level of the Tail-Cap Threaded Platform that it locates into.) thus the STC gives 107-107.4mm length internally for the battery pack.

Probably can't be done without some modding to McSwitch ?
Trouble is the McClicky is about 4.5 mm too high !

Even with spring cut down almost to the retaining clamp to maintain contact path the McClicky is about 4.5mm above
plastic retaining ring ? 3.4mm too high ? ? ?

Take 0.65mm off the McPushPin ! Easy

With this push-pin length I found

Contact edge height above the Tail-Cap threaded platform 4.5mm

This allows the Tail Cap to just screw onto the body to cover both O-Rings but if locked out one would show !

Don't bother - this is all too much hastle for maybe a very few people (1) - I can just use my standard SF Twisty +STC

Well that passed an afternoon !

Re: SF M6 Softstart / 3 level Incan Driver Switch

Pete,

It may not fit six 17500s with a McClicky even if I cut down everything including the spring. I have been able to run six protected 17500s with a soft start switch built to the battery holder - had to remove the guts of the tail cap to fit. A mechanical clicky switch is too long to fit.
