Surefire G2ZX extended run time.

This might be a silly question but can the G2Z be modified to be more like the Streamlight Polytac X ?
I have a growing surefire collection and enjoy the Z2 body style, but have been stumped by the relatively short battery life and lack of dual fuel. I have used the Polytac X for several years working on aircraft where electrically shorting the flashlight is a real possibility so plastic is preferred.
Would it be as simple as using a replacement LED assembly?

Ya. You can use a 16650 rechargeable or 2X123. And something like a Malkoff M61 low. Ton of runtime.
