The mystery driller must have a mini micro drill press is all I can say.

Mr. Mystery Driller has some cool toys in his shop... although I don't think a micro drill press is one of them. I imagine him doing it by launching a toothpick at great speeds, like how hurricane winds can cause this to happen:
