Single AA/14500 in a broad voltage light like the Quark.
As a sub-/low lumen fan, the small cell runs forever for me. Most of my gadgets are AA Eneloop based, so the commonality is super convenient and gives me endless back-ups. I really like being able to use ALL the different battery chemistries tailored for my needs at the time - from the ubiquitous NiMh/Alkaline/Lithium primary (L91) to the (R)CR123 equivalents, the 3v CRAA and 14500 Li-ion. Also in a real pinch (with a piece of tinfoil I EDC in a wallet), it's nice having the option of being able to run 1.5v AAAs and AAAA (from a 9V); and also wider cells like the CR123s, 18650, etc.
