Hi I'm currently building an LED plant light and I would really like to measure the spectrum of the lamp, but I can't really find any info on how I could do this, except from buying an instrument for several thousand bucks..

Is there any way I can put something together myself? Or does a cheap measuring instrument excist??

Hope somebody outhere can give me a hint on this one :D

One, you could rely on the published data for the LEDs you are using.

Two, you could use a device such as a STAR Spectrometer (~$30 USD) to measure the spectral lines.

See [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Plastic Spectrometer on this page: http://www.starlab.com/psprod.html
