I discovered a remarkable LED E26 100 w replacement in the supermarket the other day. It turns out to be the GE 92271. 1700 lumens, 16.4 watts, 5000 K, 83 CRI, per the Energy Star certification https://www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-light-bulbs/details/2241131

It has the ever-popular 25,000 h rating. I have not seen its equal anywhere. It is over 100 L/w and has a gorgeous SAD-fighting tint; it really makes all the 2700 K bulbs look sickly brownish-yellow in comparison. Here is what the bulb and packaging look like http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0183I70VM/?tag=cpf0b6-20

Beware, though; there are a whole lot of bulbs that have that identical appearance now, but nothing like as good specs.

There is also a 60 w replacement, the 89943 with the same design appearance and packaging, but the specs for that one are not nearly so appealing: only 81 L/w, though the same wonderful tint and a much more attractive price.

On gross examination these GE bulbs appear very well and solidly made. They certainly weigh half a ton. They are dimmable, if you care about such things. I don't notice any flicker or detectable acoustic noise (at 100% brightness). The 100 w gets damn hot at the base, of course. So far I only have about 10 h on mine.
