Hi all,

I bought some Eneloop batteries from nkon online shop, I charged them with a Nitecore D4 (genuine) and tried to test the capacity with a B6 charger.

I tested 3 batteries at 0.2A and 0.3A and I always end up with less than 1900mAh and on 2 out of 3 I have only a bit more than 1700mAh.
I compared with other people tests online and most of them have more than 1900mAh in their Eneloop, very seldomly less than 1900 and almost never below 1800.

For each batterie I repeated the test several times but with no improvement.

The battieries seems legit, they came in a sealad package.
They are Ocean Colors special edition for what it's worth, ref is BK-3MCCE/8SE, dated from 06-2016.
They are made in Japan, not China.
batteries are: https://eu.nkon.nl/8aa-panasonic-eneloop-ocean-in-blister.html/

It takes around 340 minutes for my B6 to discharge a battery. Cut out voltage displayed when it stops is 0.9V.

I bought 4 packs of 8 batteries, but only tested 3 batteries randomly out of the 32 batteries.
I can test more but it takes time obviously.

Do you have any advice about this lower capacity than advertised ? Could it be 4 bad batch ?
Should I talk to Nkon support ?
In case they are not helpful, I still have the possibility to open a Paypal dispute... I hope I won't get to this point.

thanks for your help

There is absolutely no need to over-invest in eneloops.

US customers can go with AmazonBasics
EU - Ikea Ladda
China - Xiaomi ZI5

All use same cells as Eneloops, but cost considerably less.

thank you for your answers.

@kreisl : I don't have a MH-C9000 but I agree it is a nice charger.
@CuriousOne : I already bought them, I'm not going to throw them away and buy new ones at Ikea :)

any other advice ?

any other advice ?

check the calibration of your B6.

how?

connect your DMM in series and check the current. check if the DMM reading coincides with the amperage on the B6 display.

easy exercise. and effective.
