This is a rather straightforward mod. You need the C8 of your liking, an 1-cell extender, a new 5.5+ volt driver and an adapter ring for the driver.
Mod Parts List
17mm 2.4A LD-4B driver
17mm to 17mm Adapter Ring
Ultrafire C8 Extender (Be carefull with your model fitment)
Brass Pill with XPL-HI from Kaidomain
The driver is too tall for the C8 pill so I used an adapter ring to create some space. Ring is shown between the two parts below
Of course, 2.4Amps do not cut it any more, so I modified the driver with a "sens resistor mod".for a 3.5A output.
the basic principle is that you locate the resistor that the controlling chip measures voltage to the LED and with that defines amp output.
Then you modify the resistor value by either replacing the resistor or by stacking a new one on top.
(i.e. if you want to raise output by 30%, then your new resistor value must be 30% Lower than)
That is all….
This and a forward click mod I had done earlier
