I saw a Princeton Tec "Impact" in use recently. It was quite bright for a light using a single 5mm LED. Has anybody measured the current draw of this light with either fresh batteries or a known applied voltage.
Another grossly overdriven LED flashlight?

Oh, by the way could you recomend a good a DC current tester??

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Chuck: even most inexpensive multimeters have current ranges up to 10A. A consideration in measuring currents thru LEDs is to ensure that the insertion of the meter [or other means of measurement] does not affect the current to much. One trick is to insert a 0.1 ohm resistor into the circuit and then measure the voltage drop across it. 1A = 100mv. [BTW, mapped 4500' yesterday and every foot was virgin]

Thanks Dan. I presume that the voltage quoted was battery NL voltage rather than loaded.
