Smallest 5W LED flashlight running 3-4hrs?

What is the smallest flashlight one can expect to be using for a 5W LED optimized for brightness using cheap batteries as a power source and getting 3 to 4 hours of operation? For a single nichia, it seems to be an AAA; for a 1W luxeon it seems to be 2 AA's. For a 5W would it be 2 C's, 2D's, 3C's...?

I think Wayne (elektrolumens) got some decent runtime out of a 9V-driven 5W. Not sure it was 3-4 hours, but...

He made a 5D Maglite 5W Cyan conversion for me. I'd guess that 5D cells will give me 8-10 hours of painful brightness, with many many hours of gradually diminishing light thereafter. Not exactly what you asked for, but I maybe you can do something with the info.
