Just picked up my Pocket Rocket and its perfect , exactly as ordered!
Thanks Charles lovecpf

Did some fast testing against a T20C2 and MTE P7... celling bouncing the T20C2 got 18lux , the MTE P7 got 35lux and the Pocket Rocket (smallest of the pack) got 44lux

In therms of throw obviously with this size we can not ask for more... still it seems to be more then enough... but its getting dark in 2h so will test it better.

Love the 4500k tint , not as yellow as a EZ AA warm and not as "blue" as the others I have... so perfect!

18650 cells fit very nice , no rattle

More tests as soon as I have more time.

Regards,

Those MTE P7's were great value really as they have great output for a "cheap" POS. How does the throw compare beteen the rocket and the MTE?

The MTE only works good with a AW flat top cell as it is longer and pushes the springs tighter and makes a lot more light then a regular 65mm cell.
Since its a P7 it has a corona so in that part it reads more less 4500lux where the Pocket Rocket has a perfect and large hot spot and reads more less 3500lux on a huge zone.
I havent yet tested it properly but these where the numbers I read.

I already drained a IMR cell in it to 3.3v to see if the warning would come one , but it was to early I guess.

I hope to have some time today after dinner and will take some picks and lux readings ;)

Hi Download,

My pocket rocket arrived a few days ago.

I am really happy with this light. The high setting really is super bright!

I have been looking for something with 1x18650 format with the bare minimum footprint. This light fits all my must have criteria and then some. Great job on the tailstanding and lanyard hole.

Thanks for making this available lovecpf

Open letterbox... there's a "card to collect"

The item will be available for pickup the following day. DAMN! Have to wait a day...

Go to pick it up the next day... "sorry, not here, you'll have to wait till tomorrow"

DISSAPPOINTED!!!

I know your pain, PayBacK, as the exact same thing just happened to me. Today I finally was able to pick up my light at the post office, and it has been worth the wait.

I haven't been able to spend enough time with the light to make any significant commentary on it, but I will say that the moment I took it out of the shipping box it struck me as very well made and solid.

I've been able to use it indoors this evening, and it seems to put out a whole lot of light, with a monstrous hot spot (my first experience with an SST-50).

Compared to the light I've been using a lot lately (the Quark Mini 123 on 3.6v rechargeable), it is noticeably brighter and has a significantly larger hot spot. Mine is the 6500 tint, and it is pure white to my eyes - very nice. It makes the quark look a bit yellowish - maybe a little green - but not in a bad way (LOVE the mini 123).

Since nobody else has commented on it, I'll mention that I really love the GITD ring around/on top of the lens. Very cool!

Download, compliments on this flashlight. I think you did an amazing job. Thanks!

Just did a small runtime test on high... I know I should not do this since it will get to hot , and it did but I added a fan and I was monitoring the temperature.

For the record its a 4500k led.

Cell used AW IMR 18650 1600mah charged to 4,22v

0min 2850lux 23,5ºC
1min 2460lux 40,7ºC
2min 2310lux 47ºC
3min 2170lux 52ºC
4min 2060lux 56ºC
5min 2010lux 57ºC (here the performance was going down so I added a fan pointed at it)
6min 2050lux 56ºC
7min 2070lux 55ºC
8min 2100lux 54ºC
9min 2120lux 54ºC

From 9 to 17mins it kept 2120lux and 53ºC and then I turned it off and measured 3,67v at the cell.
The light was hot to touch , 53ºC at 1cm from top of head and 46ºC at the center. The build quality is very good so nothing was harmed after this test ,still I must say that dont try this in a very hot day... room temp here was 22ºC and leaving such a powerfull light without a heat sink (our hands at least) is not a good idea.

Im now thinking in a proper heat sink to do the full test without letting it get to hot. :D

Also from my point of view , if it is hot outside at least the heat is getting out and not frying the led.

I hope I have time someday to do a proper review but until then all I have to say is that this is the best light I own to use as a flood light to a max distance of 20 to 40meters , I have tested it in a very dark zone where I use to work with cars and it has a 4 floor house beside it... this little 11cm light lights up all of the building windows
The lux readings may look low but its a huge hotspot with same value and this is amazing.

Please take attention that my luxmeter reads a bit low... for example a T20C2 reads a max of 12000lux where in most test I saw people read 16k lux...a T100C2 Mk2 reads 9k lux and a D10 R2 reads 1700lux.

All lux readings where taken at 1meter.

Wow! Im just seeing this thread now.. amazing... maybe I'll get down on Rd 7... Pocket Rocket sounds perfect for EDC, I have an Olight M30 which is phenomenal, but a little too big for EDC. This badboy might fill a niche in my flashlight collection... :twothumbs

Ditto.. though my ETC is a Quark Mini on 123 Primaries (came with the light, will switch to recharageble when they die).

I didn't even know it had a GITD ring till I noticed the ghostly green glow after trying it out... liked that idea back when I saw it in my Tiablo A9.. still do.
One of the big telling points is the smoothness of the thread for a non commercial light. Many big makers need to strive for this quality.

Really sorry mglamb,
Please insert the battery without tailcap, use a wire or metal to connect the battery (-) to the body.
See the LED module work or not.
If it does not work out, please return to me, repair or money back.
