How old is a Mini-Mag with stamped markings?

If you don't get a direct answer from someone, maybe we could trace back through its lineage:o...

Heres mine from 1997.

the first mini-mags came out in 1987. that one looks really old

theres a place on the maglite website where you can send them the serial number and they will email you back with the month and year it was made

... and heres my brothers. He bought it in 1985, but he bought it NIB at a flea market so theres a possibility its older than that by a little bit.

FWIW this light and the red one pictured above came from an era/batch that were not serial numbered. The red one was a promotional giveaway, with a company logo on it.

There were also counterfeits and fakes too.

I have a 1985 2AA mini-mag lying around somewhere. I don't believe its stamped. I'll try to find it and post pics.

I received mine for my 21st birthday, that's how I know the year. I don't even know if there is a serial number on it.

I don't know for sure the date of manufacture... I do however know approximately when they were purchased.
