What is a good quality high powered pen light? I need it for gemstone inspection, thanks for any recommendations.

I'm assuming this is similar to the question about the triangular heads on some light?

I'm not sure, but those heads might to concentrate the light so it is easier to see flaws and inclusions in the gemstone.

Do you know how many lumens/lux you'll need? I'm assuming the light will be close to the gemstone and that a smooth beam at close range is preferred.

:welcome:

And or a neutral emitter
dont need those diamonds to look blue:fail:

A high Color temperature and high CRI LED might be best, so you don't mis-judge the stone's color because of the light's tint. Don't want the diamond to appear yellow either. ;)

As you said, a neutral white emitter might be good for this, maybe the high CRI Nichia 219 emitter.

Something similar to these if available, could be custom made I think. any help locating a supplier would be appreciated, thanks,
