Having had a Manker M14 (nichia 219B), used it and gave it away, I bought two Astrolux S41s, one in XP-G3 and another in Nichia 219B.
Soon after using the XP-G3 version I noticed that one of the LEDs was darkening and was lacking output. (I have requested a replacement head which should be here soon). Since I'm stilling the original head I'm now noticing two more LEDs are going south as well.
Ok, so tonight I fire up my trusty Nichia 219 version and notice that one of the four less is dimming and acting strange.
Yes, I'm using 18650 batteries but nothing exotic.
Is this a common problem? Am I just having bad luck? Is this a driver/firmware problem? Is Manker/Astrolux aware of the problem?

If this is the newer stainless steel version, this is a known problem with the optics crushing the LED. Go to BLF you'll find a thread with lots of unhappy ppl. Good news is astrolux is exchanging the head.

It's the latest "rainbow" version ( I ordered both LED versions). I had a sneaking suspicion the optic was causing the LED (don't ask me how I know...)
I'll check it out.

My rainbow had the same problem. They sent a new head and it fixed it. At least so far, so good...

It's a well known issue for the S41s model (design flaws) and have been discussed extensively at the other forum.
Raise a ticket at Banggood and ask for a new re-designed replacement head.

Manker even posted in the thread that only the the first batch of the original Astrolux S41 were made by them, with the later batches of S41 were made by different OEM.

Hi guys, can anyone please help me. If you look at my video below, is it the tail cap that broken or is it another part? the problem is that after i close the tail cap, there is no response at all from the clicky.

https://youtu.be/UFrzWivnYHE

i bought this from banggood and after 1 week there is still no clear answer. Their so called "3 days warranty" is just a scam i think.

Re: UPDATE: Manker E14 (4*Cree XP-G3/ Nichia 219B/ Nichia 219C) is releasing

It appears to me that something is causing a short through the cap. I only have the rainbow version of the Astrolux S41S, but it doesn't turn on when I screwed the cap on.

Us a pair of snap ring pliers (or tiny utensils you have) to unscrewed the ring inside the tail cap. See what you see in there. That's about all I can tell you there...

Supposed to be getting my E14 (Nichia 219C) today... Hoping it functions as advertised, without any quirky issues... What's the main consensus on this particular version, any opinions to share (vs. Nichia 219B, Cree, or even ANY differences in the Astrolux versions)?? Thanks in advance...

Just got my E14 Nichia 219C this very moment... Excited... Been looking forward to this one... Can someone help explain the differences (benefits/disadvantages) of this version of Nichia LED vs the Nichia 219B?? Sorry, I am very new to this forum, and the hobby of the collecting/usage of these higher-end lights... I am really fascinated by them though...

For voltage, skip modes downwards with long presses. After moonlight you get turbo, then some strobe, then voltage.

The 219b vs 219c. The 219c led can pump out more lumens, but im not sure if will in this light. But the biggest difference is coulor temprature. B is 5000k and c is 4000k, so the c is warmer tint than the b.

What does 3 blinks followed by 3 blinks mean? Battery was 3.9 volts on meter.

Yes, it is

How do you know for sure? Have you spectrally tested it? Manker doesn't seem to say it is anywhere on their site and neither does any of the vendors that are selling it. Usually if a company doesn't say it is a high CRI version, they are using the cheaper R8000 variant. They also didn't confirm that it is a R9050 when I emailed them about it and just gave me a vague answer.
