I have a 2-C and 6-C Mag Light. I think they are easier to handle than D cell lights. I have a Terra Lux in the 2 C. 140 lumens is fine for me. I like LEDs and C cells for the increased run time.
FYI: I dislike the "focusing black hole" and have a solution.

I guess my personally designed FL would be a rather large (2C) light for extended run time. Perhaps two settings; 50 lumens and 300 lumens. I just returned a light to a box retailer. It was a 3C with a 500 lumen high, a low, and strobe. It crushed the battery terminals in and nixed the...
Apparently this won't work too well..? I have an EverLED in my Mag Light. I put in an aspheric lens with dismal results. Am I correct in thinking I need a Lambertian LED?

The pack-light is a 2-LED battery cap that snaps on a 9 volt battery. I've used mine nightly for over a year and it is still using the same cheap 9v that came with it.

I have a blue LED 1AA CMG light I use at night for navagation in the house. I save AA batteries from my electric shaver for it.
For about 9 years I used a 6C Maglight. I like the grip of a C over a D. This light has survived some rough falls out of a patrol car and makes an excellent impact device if needed. I have gone to a 2C Maglight recently for ease of carry. I am running an EverLED.
And yes we are not to EVER use...
Thanks for your perspective GreySave. I compared my side emitter EverLED in my 2C mag vs. Maglight's LED in my wife's 2D Mag, then tried her LED in my 2C. I like the high dome Mag better. It's good to have choices.
I bought and installed an EverLED in my Maglight. Having a very limited knowledge base to work from I picked the side emitter to retain the ability to "focus". I now know 1)that Maglight's own stock LEDs are not side emitters. 2) "focusing" is not a selling point but a liability. 3) side...
