    3w drop in at bugoutgear

Here's a beamshot showing my drop-in purchased in Hong Kong. It was taken about a meter away from my dirty and cream-white wall. Sorry about the poor color rendition. In real life the spot looks pretty white except for the outside band of greenish-yellow. I don't have a beamshot of my old...

    3w drop in at bugoutgear

[ QUOTE ] TrueBlue said: Yup, I pulled out and dusted off the lux meter and did some readings. I have two of the modules and I get a lux reading of 1780 and 1980 lux at one meter. That is not shabby at all for the drop-in. With the help of the reflector the modules have a a concentrated...

Removing the retaining ring from a bare Lux?

Hi everyone. I'd like to stick a Lux3 into a spare E2e head, but the hole in the head looks to be about 6mm, roughly the same size as the dome on the emitter. Is there any way I can remove the black retaining ring from the Luxeon without destroying it? Even if I can do so, is the base of the...

Lux 3 drop in for Surefire Incandescents

Vital Gear F2: Surefire Lookalike? Review

Thanks for the review; I ran out to Supremeco and bought an F2 based on your report that the head can be used on a Surefire E-series body. After playing with it a bit, I think the F2 is a very decent Surefire substitute, especially because it combines a thin E2-like body with the more flexible...

How do you carry your KL4 or L4

I used to carry my E2e in my LF pocket, but I got sick of being asked, "Why do you carry a flashlight?" So I tried the rear pockets, but the clip wasn't secure enough for my liking. The light kept falling out of my pocket when I sat down. Then I made a kydex sheath with a mini Tek-Lok for...

Any pics of E2e while clipped in pocket?

As Beretta1526's pic shows, the E2e is quite hidden from view when wearing trousers with slit pockets. When I'm wearing jeans or other trousers with open-top pockets, I usually carry the E2e in a kydex sheath I made myself. Otherwise, people invariably ask why I'm carrying a flashlight around...

Is SF 6P really come with pyrex len?

[ QUOTE ] Alan said: If online ordering is not an option for you, you won't be able to get A19 either. A19 is not available in Hong Kong, not even from Supreme (the SF distributor in HK). [/ QUOTE ]That's odd, I bought an A19 from Supreme Co. back in January. They also had a C2 (pyrex) bezel...

KL1 Brings Back The Doors for Encore Performance

You should see the looks of astonishment when you shine an E2e with MN03 bulb around. Everyone thinks that you're part of the light show. I'm going to try bringing my 9P to the next concert I go to. Maybe I should get a HOLA for it.

    Bic disposable flashlight

I've seen that exact flashlight. It was old stock, someone had left it around for a year (without using it, I presume) before showing it to me. The light was pathetic, and the construction was such that you'd never get it open without destroying the case. Probably uses the smallest button-cell...

    Inova X5T has been improved

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I took another look today, and I really can't see that they put "X5MT" anywhere on the package. I can only see X5 Tactical, and the packaging was exactly the same as the older version tactical. Perhaps that's just the internal serial number that TADGear is using?

    Inova X5T has been improved

I first saw the new versions at DenTrinity, a local airsoft store. The prices were the same as before, HK$360 (=US$46). Cool place to buy from, by the way. The price I saw at Supreme Co. was HK$380 or around US$50. Besides retailing, they also seemed to be distributing to other HK stores.

    Inova X5T has been improved

I'm in Hong Kong, checked out some local airsoft/military stuff stores and found a *new* version of the X5T out. It doesn't have the grooves along the side of the light, but has a hex grind (like the anti-roll part of a Surefire) all along the length. The twist part is now checkered, as opposed...

    Ridiculed By Non-Flashlight Lovers

I'd say some people actively seek an esoteric hobby, just to make themselves stand out. Of course, this is a subconscious thing. I can see it happening in my friend, who's trying out knives/lights just because he sees how immersed I am in the hobby. He always tells me he wishes he had an...
