    Zebralight SC600w IV Plus

Update: I received the repaired flashlight back Saturday, and it's working great. I was not asked to pay anything. It was returned to me in a bubble envelope with no paperwork at all. It has the same scratches as the one I sent in, so I know it was repaired, not replaced.

Thanks. Tried all of the above, and 5 clicks to ensure in G5, still blinks at 4 Hz. I'll contact Zebralight. It's over 12 months, but maybe they'll be nice to me as I've spent about $750 there over the years.

    Zebralight SC600w IV Plus

I tried last night, but I'll try again tonight. My colleagues are starting to notice the bright flashes under my desk.

No dice. Everything looks really clean, too.

    Zebralight SC600w IV Plus

Thanks both of you. I had a second identical cell, never used, so I charged it last night and put it in this morning. Same problem. I then clicked six times to get into G6. It still blinks on H1. I timed the blinking, it's right around 4 Hz. I'll try some contact cleaner next.

    Zebralight SC600w IV Plus

Mine has recently started flashing at about 2 Hz - 4 Hz on what should be H1. I have not purposely changed from the default settings, but I thought I may have accidentally done some other number of clicks when I meant to do a quadruple click to check the battery level. I seldom turn it on high...

    Completely dead Tenergy 18650

Woe, thanks. I wish I could at least say that I only paid $3, but I bought it off Amazon snce I have Amazon Prime and got free 2-days shipping. It arrived today... by I should say _they_ did. Two arrived although I only ordered and paid for one. One of the pair, though, had its shrink wrap half...

    Completely dead Tenergy 18650

I put a digital thermometer at inside top of the bag, near where I keep the flashlight. It was 118 °F at mid-afternoon, at an outside temperature of 87 °F. Last week when the cell failed it was nearly 100 °F and sunnier, so I could see it could have got to around 130 °F in there, but I bet 140...

    Completely dead Tenergy 18650

Yes, they're gloss black painted fiberglas. I don't think it should have got above the safe storage temperature for 18650, which according to this: http://www.batteryspace.com/productimages/li-ion/186502400A2%20PS.pdf ...should be at least 60°C (140°F) but it's possible. I'll try to remember...

Thanks for the link. I also found a bunch more good reading. In mine, it must have been the CID as the cell was cool when I tested it, so the PTC should have been conducting. I don't know why the CID would have tripped, unless the flashlight somehow got turned on. It doesn't seem like the sort...

    Can Trustfire be Trusted?

Cancel that. Just read that the o-rings are not petroleum compatible, and noticed that it came with a small ziploc baggie of grease. Will clean off the Vaseline and re-grease tonight. Also, the balance on this is terrible for a rear "tactical" clickie. I'd much prefer a forward one.

    Can Trustfire be Trusted?

Mine arrived today. Initially the switch seemed intermittent. I've since given it some TLC (complete disassembly, heat paste where appropriate, Vaseline on the o-rings, dielectric grease at the switch.) It works well now. The o-ring at the front glass is split nearly all the way through and is...
