    Nitecore E4K - 4x XP-L2, 4400Lm

Sadly, mine is going back. I just cannot live with the weird UI. Mainly, the problem is changing levels while the light is on. Even with the "trick", to get from mid-level to low level, you have to go through bright levels. And worse, if you turn the light on in moonlight (by double...

"Bathroom-trip in the night" flashlight recommendation?

+1more for the SC53. I use the "press and hold for low" method (standard, out of the box, programming). I find it comforting to know that I can just click on for a standard flashlight if I need it. Also, once it's on in low mode, I can double click for a slightly higher low mode if I need...

Very difficult NOT to love AAA's these days.

Quite right. But, maybe a Zebralight AAA light would be as small as the smallest AA lights (or even a tad smaller), and that would actually work for me.

Maybe Zebralight will read this thread and make us a AAA light. No harm in wishing.

Please help me find the perfect AAA

I must reluctantly agree with you. I spent a log of time searching for one only to come up empty. Then I posed the question, hoping that I had missed something. I also agree about the K18. I really do like that flashlight, but I HATE the long press for on or off. I also dislike the fact...

Please help me find the perfect AAA

I love the form factor of the K18, and I love the fact that it will use virtually any AAA sized battery, but I hate the requirement to long-press for off. That combined with memory so that it turns on in the last mode, kills it for me. If it had LMH with no memory, I'd go for it.

Please help me find the perfect AAA

The only Lumintop AAA flashlights that I have found are MLH. If there were a LMH version, I think that would solve my problem.

It is just personal preference. I suppose I could live with a tail switch, but I do not like twisties.

Please help me find the perfect AAA

Good points all. Yes, I meant one AAA only. This light is meant to be an EDC light when I wear a suit and tie. The Zebralight suggestion is a good one - I have a SC53 and love it, but it is just too big around for this use. Thanks for the ideas.

Please help me find the perfect AAA

I am looking for a AAA flashlight with some very specific features. I've looked pretty hard, and I don't think it exists, but maybe somebody here will know of one: 1. AAA 2. Clicky switch on the side. 3. Direct access to lowest level. This could be either a LMH order with no memory or a light...

I hate mode memory, and does anyone like it?

PS: One possible diplomatic solution is the Eagletac DX3B. I don't own one of these lights, but if I read the Amazon page right, you can set the light to any brightness (there are 5), and then long click for 5 seconds. This will set that brightness level to be the default when you turn on the...

I hate mode memory, and does anyone like it?

I totally dislike memory mode. I try not to buy any flashlights that have memory. Like the last poster, I like L-M-H order, and I want my lights to always come on in low/moonlight. I can see the usefulness of a way to get to high directly, but only if it doesn't sacrifice direct access to...

Review: Nitecore TIP2 (2xXP-G3, micro USB charge, removable clip, EDC)

You said: "I like the UI with direct access to highest and lowest mode." I'm pretty sure this is not true. I don't think there is direct access to the lowest mode. There is the first time you use it, but memory screws that up after one usage.

    Nitecore TIP2 has Landed!

Thanks folks. I got what I needed here. If there's no direct access to low, it won't work for my use cases. AARGH.
