Good point, I've actually never seen it that way. I always thought it was just a deliberate misspelling meant to poke fun at Maglite for various reasons, that ended up being an inconvenience when doing a search.- chamenos

They're NYPD "Traffic Enforcement" Officers. They wear a different uniform, and they don't carry a gun or cuffs AFAIK. The few I've interacted with also had at least some difficulty communicating in English, so I doubt they have to meet the same standards that the regular cops have to. -
