Best 1xAA like Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 only with better clip and nicer LED

Right! If you take clips out of the equation, it's a great flashlight for sure. Especially re: the "value" proposition. It's the kind you can buy a bunch of and not worry about misplacing a few.

Best 1xAA like Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 only with better clip and nicer LED

Ratings like these are obviously very subjective in nature, but the Sofirn sf14 fell down to 3.39 points for me WITH the Streamlight clip attached... which is actually pretty darn good. But it fell down to 2.57 points out-of-the-box with the standard clip. The Sofirn clip is just terrible for...

Best 1xAA like Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 only with better clip and nicer LED

Good question -- I don't know, but according to a little google search I just did, apparently, titanium in general is not a good conductor of heat. How that compares to aluminum or how that impacts the flashlight I have no idea... I wonder if Eagletac has published some thermal tests? I do...

Best 1xAA like Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 only with better clip and nicer LED

Added a couple more to my collection since I've become a fan of Eagletac -- I wanted to see what the story was with fancier Titanium versions... and are they worth it? So I picked up the D3A Ti and D25C Mk II Ti -- they have the exact same features as my D25A Mk II and D25C Mk II, except in...

First post here - please help me figure out what EDC to buy - best AAA for pocket

Hi guys -- I don't want to cross post, so for the sake of simplicity, I've consolidated my search and results for EDC flashlights (now including 1xAA, 1xAAA, and 1xCR123A) into one of the other threads, where I post my results that combine all my personal results into one final list...

Hi guys -- I don't want to cross post, so for the sake of simplicity, I've consolidated my search and results for EDC flashlights (now including 1xAA, 1xAAA, and 1xCR123A) into one of the other threads, where I post my results that combine all my personal results into one final list...

Best 1xAA like Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 only with better clip and nicer LED

So as I wrap up my search (for now!) for the best 1xAA EDC flashlight for my specs, I've also been simultaneously testing 1xAAA and 1xCR123A flashlights for similar situations when I need or want something a little different (different pockets, different anticipated needs that day, etc.). It...

Best single CR123A tail clicky deep carry EDC with no magnet

So I've had a chance to really dig in and do some testing now that my flashlights have shown up... and here are my current contenders that meet my specs in order of preference: 1 - Fenix PD25 - So this one surprised me and has jumped to the #1 spot. I really like it so far. The combination of...

Best 1xAA like Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 only with better clip and nicer LED

Another quick update -- I've done a lot more testing and these are my current 1xAA favorites: 1 - EagleTac D25A MK II - Rose to the top... despite its cost compared to the Lumintop, it really is the best one IMO, and probably worth the money, going against my prior statement that it wasn't...

First post here - please help me figure out what EDC to buy - best AAA for pocket

Quick update -- so I've managed to do a lot of testing of my final 1xAAA contenders, and this is how it has fallen out for me: 1 - Olight i3T - Rose to the top... I tend to reach for it the most of all the AAA flashlights right now - just a well-balanced flashlight that is simple and covers the...

Best single CR123A tail clicky deep carry EDC with no magnet

Thanks, @Sos24! Glad to hear about your experience with the PD25 and D25C -- I also think those will be my favorites. BTW, I think I might have made a mistake ordering the Olight M1T Raider... I just found out that apparently, the version I ordered has the user interface that goes Hi -> Lo. I...

Best single CR123A tail clicky deep carry EDC with no magnet

Quick update -- I just ordered the Fenix PD25 as my third test flashlight. After some more research, the PD25 features actually look pretty good on paper, and the way the side switch works with the tactical tail switch might be a nicer combo than I originally thought. Worth testing. Also, it's a...

Best single CR123A tail clicky deep carry EDC with no magnet

@tech25 and @AVService -- thanks guys! -- that PK looks like it has an incredible clip, looks like a beast for sure, actually kind of aggressive. My other flashlights will feel intimidated by it. ;-) And I can't deny the slimness of the Eagletac is very enticing. So I just ordered the D25C...

Best single CR123A tail clicky deep carry EDC with no magnet

Thanks, yes, I've become a fan of Eagletac -- someone in this forum recommended to me the D25A during my search for AA flashlights, and I ended up buying it and am very happy with it. I'll look up Vinh and see what the D25Cvn might cost! But definitely leaning to the D25C in general right now as...

Best single CR123A tail clicky deep carry EDC with no magnet

Hi guys! Now that my AA and AAA flashlights are squared away (thanks again for your help here in this forum!), I am also looking for the best CR123A EDC flashlight, with: - single CR123A (dual power design with AA is okay too, but prefer smaller size of just one CR123A) - tail clicky greatly...
