    Measuring light....

I'm still confused and I'm sure not for lack of good explanations... How are lumens and lux seen? Or, can the difference between the two be seen...? And what ever happened to candlepower...? I use an example of a garden hose size, pressure and water to visualize the difference between voltage...

[ QUOTE ] James S said: In my lights this only happens in the ones with very high current drain like my P61 modded lamps and such. [/ QUOTE ] This is answering my anser in a diff post. This is what is happening to my SF 200 lumen light... Man, I'm really liking this site... Now, on to...

    Measuring light....

If I understand lumens and lux correctly, it's the measurement of "brightness". Is this what is referred to as density...? Is there a measurement for volume...?

Batteries, Shelf life vs. Activated life...

Thanks Steel, Just last night I went to use my SF-C3 and it was dead. The bats were on the dimming side up to this point. I've noticed this before and was wondering if there was something wrong with the light. Seems that this may be a phenomenon with Li's....? If this is the case, I need to...

    SureFire VS. StreamLight In General

Ok, with my limited knowledge, here goes... Is this for duty use or general civilian use...? My issued duty light is a Streamlight Stinger but I also carry a Surefire C3 or a Z2 at the same time. The differences that I can see are the beam width. The Stinger has a more concentrated, or...

Batteries, Shelf life vs. Activated life...

I see that the shelf life of alkyline batteries is approximately 7 yrs from when shipped from the factory. But it appears that once the bats have been placed into service (activated) that they loose that life expectancy. Is this a good observation...? If so, what takes place with a bat once...

    Lithiums after 10 years?

So, after ten years, will they still preform as new and give normal expectations of usage life or will they drain quicker...?

Chop, I'm already seeing that I'll get along ok here... You remind me of a bud that's pretty bizzare also... A fellow in another forum pointed me in this direction. I've got probably a dozen flashlights around the house and vehicles, mostly Maglights. I know, not much by some standards but...
