I have noticed that two of the last Solarforce R1 drop-ins I have bought have not performed to my expectations. They have started turning "brown"....If you look at the hot-spot when you shine it at something....the center of the spot is brown. I actually looked into the LED under magnification...
Since I have pretty much all the lights I need....didn't pick up anything...the only thing I want is another Lumens factory LED module for one of my Surefires.....
I think I will stick with 3 - Mini Mag with TerraLUX LED...SF G2 with SF LED because you can get 12 hours out of it...and my SF 6P with R2 Solarforce drop in....real bright LED worth about 3 hours. Always will have my AA packs and 123 Spares holders.... and hope for the best.
Right now in my Timbuk2 bag is a SF G2 with LED dropin, my nightstand lights are a G2Z with a Solarforce R2 dropin, a 6P with a SF P61 and a Lightsaver LED with the strobe feature.
Does anyone use the 120 lumens P61 drop in with their G2? I know it should be no problem in my 6P or my G2Z due to the pyrex lens....but the G2 is lexan.....Ok to use for short bursts of illumination without damage....or is it better not to use it in the G2?
Thanks
R2 from Solarforce......awesome.....that is all the light I need....very good throw and perfect for checking your "perimeter" while out walking the dog....I am pleased, and would definitely get more of these!
Just received my R2 LED dropins from Solarforce......very nice.....better than anticipated. Will check them out on my dog walk tonight. I have placed them in my 6P and my G2Z.
I will be going after turkey this October.....I camp for a few nights and I usually bring my Polystinger for the main light....have the DC charger in my Jeep...and either a SF 6p or G2 LED for the other chores. That is usually all I need. The Stinger will penetrate the woods well enough in case...
R2 P60 Drop In
Have any of you tried the R2 drop ins that are sold by Battery Junction.com,
and what do you think of them? I need two or three for some of my SF lights as backups.
