Any of you has the UniqueFire AA-S1?

Gotta say I love mine. Run it with some 14500s and it has been my EDC for over a year. Dropped it, kicked it across the parking lot, stepped on it, still works fine. :D Occasionally pulls double douty as my work light when I forget the other lights... Dan

    Tank007 E07 Died, Help!

Another thing could be that the middle contact portion of the light has been pushed up, if you look at the stock photo the middle post is flush with the rest of the light, if you drop it, it seems like the weight of the battery pushes that post up. So... a quick solution is to toss a small...

What is your life worth? $40? $60? More?

As a police officer, that's why I carry 3 flashlights. Because even the $120 Streamlights (running on NiCads) run out of batteries, $150 surefires get dropped (and bulbs go poof) and inexpensive flashlights allow for me to carry an extra on my person, and another in my war bag. Dan

D or C cell MCE lights?

Had a thought the other day. If the MC-E lights work well for voltages of up to and around 4.7volts, why are there no MC-E lights that run off of 3 more common cells, like 3XAA or Cs or Ds? Is it just the amount of power that the light would draw that would cause the batteries to fail? Or am I...

    Help for a 777 Pilot!

Working at an airport with lots of 747s and 777s, I'd say that something similar to a RC-N3 from shiningbeam.com is more than enough. Works with 2 AAs which are available no matter where you go and with a single CR123 if you feel the need to go compact. Dan

    Flashlight for my grandfather

Why not just grab a MagLight in the 2d form? Otherwise, the RC-N3 at shining beam fits the ticket. Dan

    Flashlight help needed.......The Police Flashlight

Sounds like you're looking for one thats been built by Elektrolumens. Take a look at the Blaster-NG it's 3D sized and let's just say the light looks stout. And at around 1700lm should be like carrying a spot lamp with you up to the driver. Otherwise invest in one of MCE or P7 type lights. Even...

Budget lights MagRebel vs X2T vs Romisen RC-N3

The ones shown on shining beam appear to come with lanyards. I want a pocket clip type attachment if available and some replacements as I seem to use my gear hard... Dan

Looks like the RC-N3 it is. Are there any pocket clips available? Dan

Budget lights MagRebel vs X2T vs Romisen RC-N3

Good afternoon, the title pretty much says it all. Was looking for a reliable backup light to carry at work. Cuurently that role is being fulfilled by one of the older AAx3 Mag LEDs. I was looking to pick up something with 2 levels of light (KISS, 2 modes, no more), low and high and work with...

    Cree Q5 pistol light

Why not the Insight SSL-1 http://www.botachtactical.com/insstali.html or the streamlight TLR-1 http://www.botachtactical.com/sttrtali.html for the weapon mounted LED light system. Granted they aren't super bright, but they're budget minded and bright enough for the use as a weapons light. Dan

Please help me pick a light for walking

Well, since she's got a light that she's used to, why not just just use one of the pills form the craftsman lights and use her current light as the donor body? Same light, same batteries, same switch, plus more light and run time. :) Or just get a 2C Mag LED. Dan

    6v Lanterns?

Thanks for the welcome, I'm actually a long time lurker :) Got started with the Costo 2AA 1watt Lux, then got a few of the RR 1.5W lights, and few PR base Smjleds. Just picked up a 3AA 3w mm M*g. I work graveyards and well, lets just say I won't be running out of light anytime soon. As for the...

    6v Lanterns?

I've got a quick question, has anyone on the forum dropped a 4-cell M*g LED module into one of those inexpensive 6v lantern deals? I mean the 4-cells are ok for up to 6v I assume? And in that setup there'd be plenty of battery life right? Dan
