    Battery Junction Fire

Wow....I feel bad for Mattk and co. They've always treated their customers top notch. I hope they're not down for months. It would not be good, especially in this economy. Best wishes to our friend and colleague MattK! Thanks for being on top of this Lux

ABC News Releases 12 New Aerial 9/11 Images from FOI Request

blasterman, is this what you were looking for? I looked through my old archive...yes it's haunting. Brings a tear to your eye, even after all this time. As Lux said though, we must remember. I deliberately did not post it as an image, nor would I link to any pictures showing people being hurt...

Travel battery restrictions to be tightened even further?

Sorry, I know there is already a thread in the battery section, but this issue really will affect everyone here in the US (maybe beyond). I know there were changes last January, but this seems like a further tightening of regulations. This seems a bit over the top to me. I'm no expert in this...

    I regret to inform you...

Dhart: My most sincere condolences to you and your family during this tragic time of grief. Your son was a brave man who gave his life so others can one day live in peace. He joins a long list of heroes who have given freedom a chance to survive. It is not a list anyone wishes to be added to...

Thoughts and prayers to the families of the 4 slain police officers

I have no knowledge of police policies in such matters. I do believe, however, that police officers have as much right to sit in a coffee shop as you or I. I also believe that they have the right to do so without being attacked and murdered. I think it's more appropriate to focus less on any...

Best thoughts to our UK friends in flood areas

Wow, that's almost unheard of in those areas. Even here on the NE US coast, that amount of rain in such a short period is very rare. It's sad to see this anytime , least of all the holiday season. I hope things improve. Stay safe.

Toronto woman ID'd as victim in coyote attack

I have several dens surrounding the pond I live near. Howling can drive you crazy at 4am when you are trying to sleep. Big ones too. As others have stated, 50-55 pounds is not uncommon. I had a friend here last year from the west coast. He said "Ahhh....who's afraid of a little coyote". He said...
